When there is an active heated humidifier, the Ventilator Mode test can also be performed using the ICU Patient Connector and the Hydrophobic Filter. The ICU Patient Connector replaces the Standard Filter minimizing dead space and resistance added to the circuit and thus improving patient comfort. The Hydrophobic Filter is then required to prevent water condensation to get into the device, due to the absence of the Standard Filter.
